1. Introduction
tfolk Technologies (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the tfolk BusTrack mobile application (“App”). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (India).
By using the App you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.

3. Data We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the bus-tracking service:
- Account data — your name, phone number or username, and your assigned school route and bus stop. Provided by your school during enrolment.
- Bus GPS location — real-time coordinates of the school bus only. We do not track parents’ or students’ device GPS.
- Push notification token — an anonymous device token (FCM) used to deliver bus alerts to your phone.
- App usage logs — basic error and crash logs used to maintain app stability. These do not identify you personally.
We do not collect children’s personal data. The App is used by parents and guardians only. No information about minors is stored.
4. How We Use Your Data
- Authenticate you and maintain your session.
- Display the real-time position of your child’s school bus on the map.
- Send you push notifications for bus arrival and departure events.
- Enable in-app chat with school staff via your assigned group.
- Investigate and fix technical issues.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the above.
5. Data Storage and Security
All data is stored on a private VPS server located in India operated by tfolk Technologies. We apply industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption in transit and restricted access controls.
Your session token is stored in the encrypted secure storage on your device and is never transmitted to third parties.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party. The only external service involved in app operation is Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), which receives an anonymous device token (no personal information) to route push notifications to your device. Google’s privacy policy applies to that token.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Your account data is retained for as long as you are enrolled with the school. To request deletion of your data, contact the administrator of your school. The school admin can permanently delete your account and all associated records from the system.
8. Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023)
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request erasure of your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time by contacting the school administrator.
- Nominate a representative to exercise your rights on your behalf.

9. Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for use by adults (parents and guardians) aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. The updated version will be posted at https://tfolk.com/privacy with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
